Video project helps Herald focus on Respect Festival

The Plymouth Herald has launched a multicultural video project to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the Plymouth Respect Festival.

To celebrate, the Herald has produced a series of video interviews to explore the growing racial and ethnic diversity of the city.

The video project launched this week focuses on people who live and work in Plymouth, having travelled to the UK from different corners of the globe including India, Zimbabwe, Hong Kong and Iran.

Research shows that several different cultures live side by side in Plymouth, with at least 81 languages being spoken across the city.

In the build-up to the Respect Festival this weekend, Herald journalist Hannah Wood is looking to add to the series of videos in order to offer a broader picture on the culture of Plymouth.
