Trinity Mirror 'on course' despite volatile environment

Trinity Mirror is expecting a dip in group advertising revenues for the first half of this year to fall by 1.5 per cent in a “volatile” advertising environment.

In the regionals division, advertising revenues are expected to fall by 1.6 per cent, the biggest fall being in motors, which is expected to see a 10.1 per cent slip.

Digital revenue for the regionals are expected to achieve a strong underlying growth of 25.2 per cent, with the nationals division is also expected to achieve strong growth, of 16.2 per cent for the period.

A report to the city said: “Whilst the advertising environment remains volatile from month to month we continue to see improved stability in our advertising markets as the rate of decline slows.

“The board continues to have confidence that our 2007 performance will be in line with expectations.”

Advertising revenues for the nationals are expected to fall by 2.4 per cent but the Scottish nationals are expected to achieve advertising revenue growth of 2.3 per cent with the UK nationals advertising revenues expected to fall by 4.1 per cent. Do you have a story about the regional press?
