Reporter Paul Lewis is hoping his latest story will be as much of a success as those he writes at the South Wales Evening Post.
It’s a full-length novel, written in collaboration with his friend Steve Lockley, and has just gone on sale.
The Ragchild is described as a classic fantasy of good against evil and is set in and around Swansea, using a number of familiar locations from the city.
Readers will find themselves picturing the Castle Square, Oxford Street, The Kingsway and the area around the Morfa Stadium.
The pair were at a book-signing event at their local Waterstone’s at the weekend and gave a short talk coupled with a question and answer session for customers.
Paul told Evening Post readers: “We thought if we were going to write a novel we would set it in a place we knew well.
“The Ragchild is a supernatural mystery set mostly in today’s Swansea.”
The pair have also written a short fantasy/horror novel The Winter Hunt to be published in September as part of a collection called F20. It is also set in contemporary Swansea.
And their latest project is In That Quiet Earth, a joint venture with three other South Wales writers, which is a novel set around Wales.
Paul has also worked on the S4C sit-com Thicker Than Water and has also penned scripts for Spitting Image and Hale and Pace.
