A photographer from the Leigh Journal has been getting a lot of funny looks lately.

Colin Lyne has found he bears a striking similarity to new England soccer manager Sven-Goran Eriksson.

But the photographer has no interest in football whatsoever and was startled and confused when a motorist leaned from his car window and offered good luck wishes for the World Cup qualifier against Finland.

Colin couldn’t even answer simple football questions posed by a journalist from sister paper the Bolton Evening News.

He said: “A lot of people have commented on my likeness to Sven-Goran Eriksson but not being a football fan, I didn’t even know who he was or what he looked like.

“I wondered why people were shouting Eriksson at me but I just went along with it.”

Unfortunately Mr Eriksson was unavailable to comment on his doppelganger.
