The Shropshire Star is offering people and groups with their own websites the chance to put the newspaper’s own news feed onto their Internet pages.

The new Star Syndication section gives people the chance to put its top headlines on web pages as an extra service for their visitors.

By adding a simple line of HTML coding to pages, locally-based websites can have automatically updated Shropshire and Mid Wales news headlines.

Shropshirestar.com Internet editor Mark Waugh said: “By using small JavaScript files we can make sure that sites always have up-to-date images and the latest news headlines.

“Once people have added the code they don’t need to do a thing – we do all the hard work. The correct hyperlinks to Shropshirestar.com will also be included.”

Webmasters can also choose from a selection of graphics to put on their site to link to Shropshirestar.com.
