Visitors to the Shropshire Star’s website, shropshirestar.com, will be able to catch a glimpse of this weekend’s Shrewsbury Flower Show – even if they can’t get to the event itself.

Following the success of the site’s live webcasts from the show last year, it was again broadcasting pictures live from the event between 3pm and 6pm on Friday and was due to continue between 2pm and 5pm on Saturday.

The webcast is part of a special section on the website dedicated to the Shrewsbury Flower Show, which also includes schedules for each day of the event and a look back at previous shows.

Internet editor Mark Waugh said: “Using a mobile link, I’ll be roving around the showground or setting up on the Shropshire Star stand to send pictures live to the website.”

The pictures will then be archived on the site in special slideshows so that any visitors to the site who miss the webcasts can browse through them at their leisure.
