Orders have been flooding into the offices of the weekly from as far afield as America and Malta, and many more from closer to home.
The paper has been pushing for a permanent memorial to the war hero sailor who gave his life to rescue the Enigma machine from a German submarine, an act that helped turn the course of the conflict and save thousands of lives.
The first 100 plates have already sold out and it looks like becoming a collectors’ item.
It shows the image of Colin Grazier, his ship, HMS Petars and the German sub U-559. For each one sold, a donation is made to the memorial fund.
