Second break-in fails to halt FM launch

New radio station Reading 107fm has been targeted for the second time by burglars – this time just hours before its launch onto the airwaves.

The music station, which is part-owned by the Reading Evening Post, went “live” this week.

It worked quickly to replace equipment after the first break-in on October 3 but nothing was taken in the latest raid, which did not affect the launch.

Evening Post readers were invited to nominate the station’s first song, which was chosen to sum up the mood. It was revealed as the Doobie Brothers’ Listen to the Music.
