A reporter from the Sussex Express is ‘moonlighting’ in a second career – as a successful short film-maker.

Chris Pollard is working with his brother Simon on their latest movie project, a five-minute flick to promote Seaford Head Community College to prospective students and parents.

The footage was shot by Simon, and then Chris, who covers the Hailsham area for the Express, stepped in to help complete the time-consuming editing and dubbing stage.

He said: “We both recorded sections of narration for the ad, which turned out really well and went down a storm when it was finally shown at the college. It’s a very interesting hobby.”

A longer-term project he’s involved in is described as a “mini budget feature” and is being produced with film studies undergraduate Dan Martin.
