Two long-lost friends have been reunited through the pages of the Burton Mail.

Enid Munro and Marianne Biddle had not seen each other for more than 20 years until, by chance, they appeared in separate articles in the same edition of the paper.

While reading the paper in which she appeared, Marianne also spotted an article about her long-lost friend and decided to give her a call.

Enid said: “Marianne and I were both area sales managers with the same beauty company. We left that company 23 years ago and we have had no contact with each other since then.

“We had a lot of fun in those days as well as hard work.

“What a strange quirk of fate we should be bought together again by the Burton Mail in the very same day, with features about each of us.”
