Research tool proving popular

A former Gloucester Citizen journalist has set up a new resource for reporters that allows them to get information and help for news and feature stories, by going direct to press officers and company experts to get the answer.

The system works through the Internet and Daryl Wilcox’s Response Source has 24 sectors to allow specific direction of queries.

The system works by allowing journalists to submit enquiries – requests for information to help with news or feature articles – on the site. These are then sent immediately by email to the appropriate PRs.

The enquiries are then formatted to help PR professionals respond quickly and appropriately to meet the journalists’ needs.

Daryl, chief executive of the company behind Response Source, said: “We’ve already revolutionised the tech media sector, now we are going to do the same across the whole industry.

“Response Source has been designed with both the journalist in mind, which means it really works. It’s quick and efficient – it has to be to support today’s fast-moving media.”

He started the project in 1998, originally for the technology sector but has expanded the businesses to cover a wide range of experts, and now boasts an annual turnover of almost £1m.

Both PR professionals and journalists can register at responsesource.com.
