Reporters make the Three Times Promise

A trio of life-saving reporters from the Aberdeen Evening Express have done their bit to boost the nation’s blood banks in support of a campaign by the Blood Transfusion Service.

Tanya Johnson, Gayle Nicol and Lee MacKay all rolled up their sleeves to make their donations for the Three Times Promise campaign.

The campaign was launched last year in recognition of the fact that many people didn’t realise you could give blood three times a year.

Evening Express health reporter Tanya said: “It was good to give blood again as I had been getting a bit lax about it.

“It is an extremely worthwhile thing to do and I will now go more regularly. Anything that helps save lives has to be worthwhile.”

Lynne Boyd, donor services manager for Aberdeen and North East of Scotland said: “I am absolutely delighted that the Evening Express is supporting us during this campaign with its own hat-trick of reporters giving their all important donations.”
