Reporter Joanne ready to jump 10,000ft to fulfil life-long ambition

Royston Crow reporter Joanne Jarvis is to take the plunge and fulfil a life-long ambition, taking part in a 10,000ft tandem sky dive.

Joanne will embark on the skywards journey in July, and raise money for the Isabel Hospice in Hertfordshire.

Joanne said: “This is something that I have always wanted to do, although at the same time have always been a bit apprehensive.

“At the moment I’m excited about the jump, although I’m trying not to think about the distance I’ll be jumping from.

“I’m sure the nerves will kick in nearer the time, but I’ve been ensured that I will be in good hands.”

Nineteen others will be joining the Archant reporter in the clouds, and she is hoping to raise £2,000.

Joanne said: “If I reach my target it will all be worthwhile, especially as the money is being raised for cancer sufferers and those with life-limiting illnesses.

“I’m sure the money will be put to good use and worth all the sleepless nights.”

The jump will take place on Sunday, July 15, at Chatteris near Cambridge.
