Report prompts council action

Readers are to be polled on moves to replace controversial bollards set into the market place at Market Rasen, Lincs.

The Market Rasen Mail has reacted to the heated debate in the town by giving readers the chance to have their say on what should happen next.

Concrete bollards, described as “stone blocks”, which were put up recently, have come in for a barrage of criticism and the county council has caved in to say they can be replaced – if that’s what the people want.

The Mail will this week publish pictures of what the historic area could look like under several alternative schemes.

Council officers had even been to see the problem for themselves after a report in the current edition of the paper.
