The Response Source Journalist Enquiries System this week celebrated the 50,000th time it has assisted journalists in their research.
Since its launch in 2001 www.responsesource.com has helped more than 7,000 journalists speed up or widen the scope of their research and enabled countless organisations of all sizes to achieve mentions in the media.
Daryl Willcox, founder and chairman of the company behind Response Source, said: “It’s been wonderful watching Response Source grow into something that the journalist and PR communities depend on every day.”


A Winchester radio station could be set to change hands after Sir Ray Tindle, whose company, Tindle Radio Ltd owns Dream FM, announced plans to semi-retire after celebrating his 81st birthday.
Sir Ray, who has been in the newspaper industry for more than 60 years and now runs more than 200 titles, is looking for a partner in the radio business after achieving millionaire status with Tindle Newspapers.


Dai Davies, the president of farming union NFU Cymru, has given his full support to a Western Mail food campaign ‘2 Buy Welsh’.
Launched in August, the campaign is to encourage local people to buy more Welsh produce and support local businesses, ahead of commercial supermarket stores.
He said: “We as a union are 100 per cent behind the Western Mail’s 2 Buy Welsh campaign and we would like to see more companies and organisations driving Welsh products forward.”


Guernsey Press editor Richard Digard has taken part in a sponsored walk raising hundreds of pounds towards opening a specialist Alzheimer’s care home in the area.
The event, organised by the Guernsey branch of the Alzheimer’s Society, saw the editor cut short his holiday in Italy to complete the 8.5 mile walk in just over 90 minutes. The appeal target has been set at £1m with around £500,000 being raised so far.


Express and Star video journalist Andy Toft has cycled – and filmed – part of a route used by some of the world’s best cyclists.
The Tour of Britain cycle race took place last month, and Andy’s efforts can be seen here


The Aberdeen Press and Journal now has its own tartan, using the paper’s company blue as a foundation, and another two colours, black and white, chosen to represent the printed word.
There are now plans to produce a range of merchandise using the Press and Journal tartan.
