More than 2,500 people have attended the biggest media careers event ever held in the south.
The Southern Media Careers Information Day, which was backed by the Southern Daily Echo, was held at the Southampton Guildhall.
The event allowed potential media stars of the future to find out more about the world of newspapers, radio and television.
Visitors to the event were able to see a “virtual” Daily Echo newsroom where they could produce their own front page.
And budding television news readers were able to try reading the day’s headlines on camera with the aid of an autocue in a mobile studio.
Daily Echo editor Ian Murray said: “Today is important to me on a personal level because I remember when people took the time to show enthusiasm for my ideals and dreams.
“It is important for me to remember that and give young people a chance.”
