Readers to benefit from weeklies' new look

Readers have been promised more news, features and adverts when the Mid Devon Gazette gets a revamp this week.

The number of editions has been increased to three and deputy editor Mary-Ann Bloomfield says that will give readers a better deal.

The changes will also mean more colour pages throughout the series and extended events listings targeted to each edition.

She said: “As the communities across our territory have evolved, so we have recognised the need to embrace change – but without diluting any of our traditional values.

“There will be more columns for opinion, extra space for features and sport and a considerable number of added pages for news and photographs.

“The Tiverton Gazette (and East Devon Herald) was founded by Robert Were in 1858 and in the years since, its successors have been proud to highlight important issues, reflect the activities of many hundreds of social groups and applaud individual achievements.”

The three regional editions will be the Tiverton Gazette, The Culm Valley Gazette and the Crediton Gazette.
