Raft of promotions at The Sentinel

The Sentinel has made a number of changes to senior staff, headed by features editor Peter Bossley being promoted to assistant editor of Sentinel Sunday.

He has been working at the Stoke-on-Trent papers since 1996 when he joined as a sub-editor, moving to the features post in 1999.

He previously worked for the Burton Mail and South Manchester Reporter, as well as taking time out in between to promote outspoken pop group The Macc Lads.

Chief sub-editor Phil Smith will become production editor of all Sentinel titles, while Richard Firth will be the new chief sub. Trevor Reid is to becomes chief sub-editor of the weekly operation.

Richard Ewels, former deputy editor of the Express & Star at Wolverhampton, joins the company on March 17 as features editor, and his new deputy will be Charlotte Littlejones.
