Putting Cornwall's community on the Internet map

The Cornishman is helping to take the Cornwall community into the 21st century and put it firmly on the map with by providing free community Internet pages for its readers.

The Beehive provides easy-to-build websites for every organisation and non-profit making community group throughout Cornwall.

Community publishing co-ordinator Jenny Bird said the scheme would help non-profit making groups to further develop ties with the community.

She said: “As long as you have access in your organisation to a computer with Internet connection you can have a website up and running in no time.

“Once in the hive you’ll be part of the This is Cornwall website hosted by The Cornishman, which provides news and sport from The Cornishman plus a wealth of regional information.

“The aim of the Beehive is to ensure the worldwide web is easily accessible and available to non-profit making sectors throughout the Cornwall area. It ensures access for all community projects, self-help groups, clubs and associations, schools, educational and cultural initiatives.”
