Press watchdog heads north to raise awareness of its work

The Press Complaints Commission will be heading north to Newcastle next month as part of its continuing drive to increase awareness of its services.

The press watchdog will hold an open day at the city’s Centre for Life on November 22, when members of the public will be able to ask Commission members and staff about any aspects of its work.

Visitors will also be able to grill chairman Sir Christopher Meyer and other members of the PCC panel about self-regulation and the press.

The event follows similar successful open days in cities such as Manchester, Cardiff, Belfast and Edinburgh.
