Video training has been added to the syllabus of The Press Association’s foundation course in journalism.
The course, which Press Association Training acquired from Trinity Mirror in January 2006, has been transformed over the past 12 months. Online journalism has been added and now the transition to a full multi-media programme is being completed with the introduction of an additional 35 hours of video journalism training.


Journalists in Teesside are being urged to meet together to discuss their professional issues as part of a national Stand Up for Journalism campaign.
People working for papers, magazines, broadcasting, new media, or PR are invited to drop into Café Sorrelle, Albert Road, Middlesbrough, any time between 4.30pm and 7.30pm on Wednesday.
The event is being organised by the National Union of Journalists which has declared November 5 Stand Up for Journalism day.


Trinity Mirror has appointed Rick Gleave as new group head of interactive.
Rick will be responsible for the development, testing and launch of the Group’s entry into the mobile market and the delivery of a range of content-rich services to mobiles on a subscription/pay-per-use basis.

The Newcastle Evening Chronicle has teamed up with the Environment Agency to launch the 2007 Environment Awards.
The Environment Awards are specifically aimed at recognising the achievements of local people who have taken measures to be a part of environmental efforts and projects across the North East.
