Politics and sport boostNEP output

The onset of summer – and an impending General Election – has prompted the launch and development of several new websites from Northcliffe Electronic Publishing in the Midlands.

Four new NEP sites will carry all the local election news from the pages of the Derby Evening Telegraph, Leicester Mercury, Stoke Sentinel and Nottingham Evening Post in the run-up to the big day on June 7.

www.thisisderbyshire.co.uk/election2001 was the first to go live on Thursday May 10, followed hours later by www.thisisleicestershire.co.uk/election2001.

The other two sites, at thisisstaffordshire and thisisnottingham, went ‘live’ on Monday.

All the sites will be updated daily and will provide added-value for readers through useful static information, feedback sections, frequently asked questions and links to other websites connected with the local and national elections.

The company’s three niche cricket sites have been redesigned and extended for the 2001 county championship season.

The three, which can be found at www.thisisderbyshireccc.co.uk, www.thisisnottsccc.co.uk and www.leicestershireccc.com,
were designed by Matt Burke and are being managed by Dave King. The Leicestershire site is the club’s official web presence.

Among the functions available are ball-by-ball live scores direct from every game.
