Police stories needed

Deputy editor Jo Overty is forging links with the police force on the Isle of Man and needs YOUR help.

She is looking for stories where the police have used their initiative to assist the media.

She said: “I’d like journalists to contact me urgently with any examples of when officers, particularly young and even trainee PCs, have used theirinitiative to assist the media.

“This could have led to good stories which have both shownthe police in a good light and been good sellers or something a bitdifferent.”

Jo, who is deputy editor at Isle of Man Newspapers, will use the information when she addresses a class of probationer police constables next Thursday on the benefits of assisting the media.

“E-mails or cuttings would be gratefully received,” she said.
