Nicola Priest takes on group editor role

Warrington Guardian editor Nicola Priest has been promoted to group editor of Guardian Series Newspapers.

Nicola has been editor of the Warrington title since December 2004, having previously been deputy editor, and in addition her brief now covers publications in Northwich, Knutsford, Crewe, Nantwich, Winsford, Middlewich and St Helens.

She will also continue to edit the Warrington Guardian Series and World Group titles.

Nicola, (47), has worked for the group for almost 20 years, nine of which were as deputy editor at the Warrington Guardian, and began as a trainee reporter at the paper.

She said: “I’m looking forward to working more closely with the other editors in the group.”

Eleanor Underhill, managing director of Guardian Series Newspapers, said: “Nicola will provide leadership on all editorial matters and activities within Guardian Series Newspapers.

“She will be working closely with our editors to ensure that our newspapers and our websites engage and captivate our readers; and she will also be focusing on targeting new readers and website visitors.

“We are fortunate to have someone of Nicola’s experience, talent and enthusiasm to lead and inspire our team.”
