Heard the one about the soap star who works for the Wells Journal?

If you have, then your sources are mistaken.

For despite looking the spitting image of EastEnder’s star Lucy Benjamin, the Journal’s Louise Bremner is more likely to be found manning the phones in the paper’s tele-sales department.

The similarities in looks between Lucy, who plays Phil Mitchell’s girlfriend Lisa in the soap, and Louise has caused a stir at the newspaper.

Michael Chamberlain, who writes the Jack Blandiver column, explained: “At the recent Glastonbury carnival, Louise joined mascot Billie Bear to ride on top of the Cheddar Gorge’s double decker bus.

“It soon became apparent that some of the spectators thought that the soap star was making a special guest appearance.”

Photographer Jason Bryant was bombarded with requests for her autograph so he had to calmly inform people that she wasn’t the soap star.

They could be excused for their mistake though. At the Love Parade in Leeds back in June, Dean Gaffney who plays Robbie in the soap, approached Louise thinking she was his co-star.
