Newsmen's input at festival

Two Nottinghamshire journalists will be meeting the public at the county’s premier literary festival this week.

Stephen Booth, deputy editor at the Worksop Guardian, is one of the local authors due to appear tonight.

The novelist, who writes in his spare time, sold his first work Black Dog for a five-figure sum to HarperCollins earlier this year and saw it printed all over the world and even become the target of film companies.

He is a guest at the Crime Writers’ Evening at the Lowdham Book Festival, which runs this week at Lowdham, near Nottingham.

Nottingham Evening Post assistant editor Duncan Hamilton will feature in a panel discussion on The Art of Political Biography on Saturday.

The Post-backed Festival also features guest appearances by local favourite Alan Sillitoe and events for readers and writers alike.
