Three new sponsors have joined the Cambridge Evening News Putting Schools First scheme, which turns newspapers into teaching aids.
Barclays Corporate Banking, Cambridge University Press and Slough Estates have all pledged their help for the initiative, designed to provide free copies of the newspaper to schools all over Mid-Anglia.
Teachers use the newspapers to highlight curriculum subjects like reading, writing, maths and history.


Readers of the Hull Daily Mail have raised £50,000 for the paper’s charity of the year – KIDS – which provides services for children with special needs across East Yorkshire.
The appeal, launched in May, aims to raise £100,000, which will be used to develop the charity’s services.
