Trinity Mirror has appointed Laura Wade-Gery, chief executive of Tesco.com, as a non-executive director.
She will join the group’s board tomorrow.
Chairman Sir Ian Gibson said: “We are delighted that Laura is joining the Trinity Mirror board. She brings a wealth of corporate experience from the UK’s leading retailer and is known throughout that business as a real customer champion.”


Ed Aarons has been appointed sports editor of Courier Group Newspapers.
The group publishes the Kent and Sussex Courier and the Sevenoaks Chronicle.
He succeeds Jez Durrant, who is now working in public relations.


University College Falmouth is to team up with London agency The Writer and some of the world’s leading experts to help businesses in the south west harness the power of words in order to boost profits.
The first of its kind in the region, the College’s Business Writing Seminar will be held at the National Maritime Museum Cornwall in Falmouth on October 13.


Gloucestershire cricketers are helping to maintain the proud heritage of the Glorious Glosters’ famous regimental Back Badge.
County Cricket Club players will wear the badge – a symbol of pride for generations who have fought with the Gloucestershire Regiment – on the reverse of their championship cricket caps.
The Citizen launched a campaign to save the badge after it was threatened by regimental amalgamation, and it will also still be worn by officers and warrant officers on most forms of uniform and by Territorial Army members and army cadet forces.

It will include tips on travel-writing techniques as well as how to get your work published.
