Roy Jeans, managing director of Magna UK, will be the Master of Ceremonies at the Newspaper Society’s Advertising, Marketing and Digital Media Awards on October 14 at The Midland Hotel, Manchester.

The Daily Record has launched a new fortnightly personal finance section called Record Money.
The eight-page supplement Record Money will be published every second Tuesday and is the latest stage in the development of the Daily Record’s business coverage. It will provide a comprehensive guide to the financial services market, offering help and advice on credit cards, loans, savings, mortgages, insurance, debt management and bills.


The 2004 Foreign Press Association Media Awards will take place on November 23 in London in the presence of special guests His Majesty King Abdullah ll bin Al-Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and Her Majesty Queen Rania Al-Abdullah. King Abdullah will speak at the event.
The dinner will also be attended by leading politicians, celebrities and media personalities. John Sergeant will compere. Sue MacGregor and Terry Waite will be among the prominent award presenters in a ceremony. The FPA Media Awards, dedicated to excellence in foreign reporting and to other areas of serious journalism, are given to print and broadcast journalists. This year web publishing is included for the first time.
