John Williams has been appointed the first group editor of the Anglia Advertiser Series.

The promotion saw him take up his new role at the beginning of this month.

John was previously deputy editor of The Ely Standard, where he had worked since June last year, and prior to that he spent 14 years as a sub-editor on the Eastern Daily Press and Evening News in Norwich.

His appointment is part of the current re-launch and revamp of the weekly newspaper series, which is distributed from North Norfolk to North Essex, and in most of Norfolk and Suffolk.

Six of the eight titles in the series were successfully re-launched at the end of last year, and the final two will re-launch with a new look shortly.
