The Society of Editors is looking for a new board member to replace Neil Fowler, who will shortly complete his term on the board.
Mr Fowler, editor of the Western Mail, will retire as immediate past president at the AGM in Belfast in October.
The Society board hopes to have candidates representing all sectors of the media and regions to reflect it growing membership.
The current make up of the board is: Ed Curran, Belfast Telegraph, (president), Liz Page, Evening Press, York, (vice president), Neil Fowler, Western Mail, (immediate past president), Robin Esser, Daily Mail, (chairman of P&L), Peter Cole, Sheffield University, (training committee chairman), Ranald Allan, Aberdeen, David Gledhill, Bath Chronicle, Jonathan Grun, PA News, Paul Horrocks, Manchester Evening News, Alan Powell, Sheffield Telegraph, Chris Robertson, Carlton Broadcasting, Keith Sutton, News and Star, Carlisle, Graham Cole, (treasurer) and Bob Satchwell, (executive director).
Nomination forms, which have to be signed by three members and the candidate, are available from the society.
They will need to be returned by August 24 and an election will be held in September, with the result to be announced at the annual conference in October.
