New editor for Norwich

David Bourn, (pictured right) currently deputy editor of the Newcastle Evening Chronicle, has been appointed editor of the Norwich Evening News.

He succeeds Bob Crawley who was appointed Web Publisher for Eastern Counties Newspaper Group.

David (37) is married with two young daughters. He joined the Chronicle as a District Chief Reporter from the Hexham Courant in 1985.

He was News Editor for two years before taking over the deputy’s role.

He somehow managed to combine his district reporter’s job with running his own pub!

Like most Tynesiders, David has been a keen Newcastle United fan all his life and actually played for their Boys’ team. He also played cricket and rugby at school county level.

His starting date is still to be confirmed.

Deputy Editor Roy Strowger will continue as Acting Editor until further notice.
