New baby for Liz

Journalist Liz Wakefield has given birth to her second child.

Baby James, weighing 8lb 10oz, joins the rest of the family – husband John and sister Annabel – at their Nottingham home.

Liz (35) is currently on maternity leave from the Nottingham Evening Post, where she has worked part-time as a feature writer since Annabel was born three years ago.

Under her maiden name of Liz Cartwright, she trained at Stradbroke College, Sheffield, in 1985 and worked at the Lincolnshire Echo until 1989.

She left newspapers to travel and do PR work and joined the Nottingham Evening Post in 1994.

She became Assistant News Editor, and then Deputy News Editor, in 1995.
