More help for tired hacks

Another newspaper office has benefited from the services of a masseuse visiting journalists at their desks.

HoldTheFrontPage has already reported on how the Brentwood Gazette felt refreshed after their session with Jakki Roberts.

And now the Evening Herald, in Plymouth, has got in on the act, inviting Shiatsu expert Fiona Carpenter in to help relieve the aches and pains – and provide material for a feature.

Features editor Mike Bramhall told readers: “I wasn’t sure what to expect, but after a busy morning in the office I was willing to try anything.

“Fiona sat me in a chair and began to apply gentle, but firm pressure with her fingers and thumbs to areas on my arm, wrist, shoulder and face.

“In the three weeks since my single session I have not experienced any pain in my troublesome shoulder – proof to me that Shaitsu works.”

Designer Jo Lucas added: “I am a headache sufferer and have tendonitis in my right shoulder.

“On that particular day I had a nagging headache until Fiona worked on me. Fifteen minutes with her and it was gone for the rest of the day. In all honesty, I haven’t had one since.”
