Moore and Yelland agree to speak

Daily Telegraph editor Charles Moore and Sun editor David Yelland are among the top speakers lined up for the Society of Editors conference in York.

The October event is set to host a series of talks from high-profile speakers on the theme of winning back readers, listeners and viewers, and will also show delegates the best examples in all media disciplines.

The conference will also have examples of editorial and sales successes as well as looking at current legal and privacy issues affecting every paper from the biggest-circulation national dailies to the smallest local weekly.

The annual dinner will take place at the National Railway Museum with a reception among the old steam locos which make up the national collection.

Society executive director Bob Satchwell said: “The conference will have something for everyone including local and regional newspapers as well as top stars from the media and politics.

“We hope the dinner will be well supported even if people cannot get to the whole of the three-day conference.”
