Milton Keynes journalist charged over misconduct allegation

A Milton Keynes Citizen journalist and a former police officer are among four people to be charged in connection with allegations of misconduct in a public office.

The charges follow an investigation into allegations that sensitive information was leaked to the media and other parties.

Media Lawyer reports that journalist Sally Murrer, (49), is charged with three offences of aiding and abetting misconduct in a public office.

Ex-Thames Valley Police officer Jonathan Mark Kearney, (48), from Middleton, Milton Keynes, was charged with eight offences of wilful misconduct in a public office.

Derek Webb, (53), of Harpenden, Hertfordshire, was charged at Aylesbury police station with five offences of aiding and abetting misconduct in a public office.

Soldier Harry Kearney, (20), from Waterbeach Barracks, Cambridgeshire, was also charged with one count of aiding, abetting, counselling and procuring misconduct in a public office. He was also charged with possession of a Class A drug.

All four were released on bail and will appear before magistrates at Kingston-upon-Thames on November 15.
