Mercury writers boost property pages

The Leicester Mercury has replaced its Saturday property pages with a bigger and brighter full colour Homes supplement.

Fifty-six pages advertise around 2,000 homes for sale in the new-look Mercury supplement, which is designed to offer a comprehensive guide to all the latest properties on offer, including a specific section for new homes, and a whole host of new lifestyle features, including interiors, gardens, finance and new homes.

In addition to its large established base of estate agent advertisers, the Mercury aims to provide opportunities for companies wishing to reach a captive audience in the new sectors of the supplement, which has a circulation of 110,000 and a readership of more than 220,000.

Included on the gardens pages is a question time section, and in a column entitled Nature Notes, there is a look at what wildlife might be found not too far from your back door.

Mercury property manager Julia Rasile said: “The content of Homes makes the Saturday newspaper a very attractive purchase for house hunters, because in addition to the properties, they’ll have plenty of good articles to read.

“The bright front cover and the very colourful feature items, compiled by some of the Mercury’s best writers, make searching for a property much more appealing, and will also prolong the supplement’s shelf life.”
