Mail joins partnership to boost motor industry

Motor dealers across Hull and East Yorkshire have joined the Hull Daily Mail in a partnership designed to give a much-needed boost to the local car industry.

The Mail has launched a 10-week Now Is The Time 2 Buy campaign which will highlight falling prices of new and used cars.

Mail editor John Meehan said: “We believe the Mail can act as a catalyst to stimulate this vital sector of the Hull and East Yorkshire economy. We see this as an important part of our role as the champion of the local community.”

Over the next 10 weeks the Mail will publish regular stories and features highlighting why now is such a good time to buy a new or used car, and it will also give its readers the chance to win a new Ford Ka.

It is hoped that this will raise public confidence in the industry and give a fillip to local dealerships by encouraging sales.

The campaign was launched at a reception at the Posthouse Hotel on the Marina in Hull, attended by many of the region’s motor dealers.

The motor industry’s national body, the Retail Motor Industry Federation, is supporting the campaign and has praised the Mail’s efforts.
