Readers of the Leicester Mercury are being invited to vote on what should go into a Millennium Collection.

A collection of items that have shaped the 20th Century and the way we live in the year 2000 is being put together – and Mercury readers are being asked to help out.

They could contribute anything from a pair of tights to a CD or mobile phone to Connecting Leicestershire People Millennium Festival.

The group will host an exhibition in the county’s museums and then the collection will be preserved for the future.

The organisers already have 250 exhibits but Mercury readers are being asked to send in their entries on a form printed in the paper.
