Lingerie assignment is'chest the job'

When a Bucks Free Press feature writer went to investigate a local lingerie shop that guarantees a perfect fit, she ended up revealing more than she expected…

No sooner had Alice Eaton (right) stepped into the shop’s office, than she was told she was wearing the wrong-sized bra.

Instead of the below-average 34B size Alice thought she was, her actual fit was a more curvaceous 30D.

The difference in size was so considerable that Alice decided to tell readers of the Bucks Free Press all about it.

Reflecting on her public revelation, Alice said: “I was just going to say that I had gone up two sizes but it was such a big difference that I decided to do the story on the angle about me and thought I may as well reveal all.

“As journalists, we’re supposed to reveal everything. But it was a bit embarrassing – people didn’t believe me!

“I am ashamed to say I have never had a bra fitting but have just gone for what looks as though it fits right.”

Although the story may have left Alice blushing a little, there was a serious message behind it all.

It is thought that around 70 per cent of women wear the wrong-sized bra – which can lead to neck, back and posture problems.

Alice said: “The man in the shop told me about a woman who had three-quarter-inch grooves in her shoulders made by her bra straps because she had not had the support around her back.

“I tried the 30D bra and never thought in a million years I was that size – but it felt very comfortable with real support, from the back rather than from the straps.”

And of course, Alice now has the perfect excuse for a shopping spree…
