KM Group launches web video bulletins

The Kent Messenger Group has launched a TV-style local news service on its website, kentonline.

And journalists from the group’s kmfm radio stations are getting a taste of life on the small screen by presenting three TV bulletins a day.

The service, called Kent Today, went live this week after a three week trial period. The Monday-to-Friday bulletins are a maximum of two minutes long and include pictures and audio clips from a studio at the company’s Canterbury offices.

Antony Masters, kmfm’s head of news, is editing the service, while web journalist Andy Winter and kmfm journalist Dan Palmer share the production. Technical development manager Paul Cackett provides the technical expertise.

Editorial director Simon Irwin said: “We have utilised a wide range of in-house talent to add this exciting new service to our website. We hope all our visitors from around the world will enjoy it.”
