Jane becomes assistant editor

Jane Manning has been appointed assistant editor at the ScunthorpeTelegraph.

She has been with the paper since 1995 when she was appointed deputy newseditor, before moving on to become news editor and more recently head ofcontent.

Before that she was education correspondent at the Hull Daily Mail andbegan her journalism career at the Wisbech Standard in Cambridgeshirefollowing training at Harlow College.

She said: “These are very exciting times at the Telegraph and I am verypleased to be part of it all.

“Thanks to our staff, readers and advertisers, the Scunthorpe Telegraphis performing very well at the moment, much better than many localnewspapers.”

Her appointment coincides with editor Michelle Lalor’s maternity leave -her second child is due early next month.
