It's a pantomime for Cornish papers!

Cornwall and Devon Media has stepped forward to sponsor a Truro pantomime this Christmas.

The company, which publishes The West Briton, The Cornishman and The Cornish Guardian, will bring Aladdin to the stage in a production at the Hall For Cornwall which stars rock legend Rick Wakeman.

The West Briton itself has just won a national award for an advertisement produced in conjunction with the theatre highlighting the show George’s Marvellous Medicine.

The newspapers’ marketing director David Lean said: “We are delighted to show our support for the county’s premier theatre.

“In working closely by highlighting shows coming to the Hall For Cornwall, we are ensuring an increased number of theatregoers in Truro.”

Marketing and commercial controller at the theatre, Sarah Ferrie, added: “As a charity we need as much input from local businesses as possible and as they benefit as well. It’s smiles all round.”
