Herald hosts the Great Fuel Debate

The issue that’s got the nation talking is set to get a city talking, when the Plymouth Evening Herald hosts The Great Fuel debate on Friday.

A panel of experts and politicians will be answering questions from the audience at the Guildhall.

They are calling on as many people as possible to go to the venue to tell them exactly what they think about fuel prices.

The event will be chaired by Herald editor Rachael Campey.

She said: “The Herald’s Great Fuel Debate will give you the chance to voice your views on an issue that affects us all.

“More than five weeks since a blockade of Plymouth’s main fuel depot ended, the price of petrol and diesel remains as contentious as ever.

“As a deadline for further protest action draws close, pressure has continued to mount on the Government to bow to protestors’ demands.

“On Friday November 3, experts representing all sides in the arguments over the impact of fuel costs on businesses, individuals and the environment, will make up the panel for the Herald’s public debate.”

The debate will take place only 10 days before the protestors’ deadline for fuel cost cuts expires.
