Ham & High looks for new editor

The Hampstead & Highgate Express Series is looking for a new editor after Ross Lydall, currently in the hotseat, announced his departure.

Ross will leave the paper on May 30 to become the local government correspondent on the Evening Standard.

He has worked at the Ham & High for six years and been editor for the past two. He also helped to set up its sister title the Highbury & Islington Express.

Ross said: “I feel I’ve achieved a lot on the Ham & High in the last two years, and hope I leave it in a much healthier state than I found it.

“I’d like to pay tribute to the journalists I’ve worked with on both the Ham & High and High & Islington who deserve enormous credit for their dedication and hard work in difficult times, and who are a real credit to both papers and to Archant.

“I’m hugely excited by the challenge of stepping up to a national and look forward to getting away from management headaches and back to journalism.”

Ham & High deputy editor Jerry Andrews and John Dunne, deputy editor of the High & Islington, will be in charge of the paper until a new editor is appointed.
