Group editors appointed following restructure

Two group editors have been appointed at the northern division of Midlands Weekly Media following a restructure at its newspapers.

Pam Thomas (right) has been named group editor of the Sutton Coldfield News, Tamworth Times, Lichfield Post and Burton Trader, which have a combined distribution of 184,000.

Mike Lockley (below) will now be responsible for the Cannock Chase Post, Stafford Post, Walsall Observer and the Wolverhampton AdNews, which, collectively, are distributed to 248,000 homes.

All the newspapers are free weeklies owned by Trinity Mirror.

Pam was previously series editor of the Walsall Observer and Wolverhampton AdNews, and has also edited the Solihull News and Walsall Observer.

Mike was previously series editor for the Cannock Chase Post and Lichfield Post, having joined the Cannock Chase Post as editor in 1986.

The two new group editors roles replace the roles of five editors which have now been made redundant, along with the role of one assistant editor. Two new sub-editor roles have also been created.
