A newspaper campaign to start 365 new businesses in a year has got off to a flying start – with 39 ventures in its first 22 days.

The initiative, run by the Middlesbrough Evening Gazette, has a goal of helping generate a new business each day.

It also highlights organisations that can offer help and advice to people wanting to run their own firm. There is support and advice for would-be entrepreneurs and a hotline for them to ring.

The project has received backing from Tony Blair and is being run in conjunction with local business support group InBiz.
