Former T&A staff remember the 'the good old days'

Former editors, journalists and photographers from the Telegraph & Argus in Bradford have been remembering ‘the good old days’ at a reunion in the city.

Seventy former staff, whose time at the paper spanned the 1970s to the present day, gathered for a party at the Winter Gardens in Ilkley on Saturday.

Among those who attended were former editors Arnold Hadwin, who is now retired, and Mike Glover, who now edits The Westmorland Gazette.

The reunion was organised by ex-T&A journalists Clare Walker, Julie Stott, Sarah Giangregorio and Alison Garford, and as well as catching up with former colleagues, guests took a trip down memory lane with the help of a display of old photographs.

Alison said: “The event was a real success and everyone had so much fun. In some cases people hadn’t seen each other for 20 years.

“It was a time when everybody worked hard, but we also had some incredibly fun and happy times.”

Also among the guests was Neil Benson, editorial director of Trinity Mirror Regional Newspapers, who held senior roles at Bradford before taking on editorships at Coventry and Newcastle, and former T&A news editor Malcolm Hoddy, who now edits the Keighley News.
