Former London editor has died at 55

Former group editor of East London Newspapers, Richard Tidiman, has died at home aged 55.

He was found by a neighbour around a week after his death and a post-mortem examination revealed that he died from liver failure.

Because it was a death from natural causes, there will be no inquest.

Richard – known as Dick – took early retirement last year through ill health when he was also editor of the East London Advertiser.

His career in journalism began at the Essex and East London newspaper group in 1970 and he was promoted through the ranks to take the group editor role in 1999, in charge of the Hackney Gazette and Stratford Express.
