With the worst of the flooding crisis over – and mopping-up operations well underway – regional papers around the country have set their sights on souvenir supplements and photo sale opportunities.
At the Burton Mail – where editorial staff worked on behind a barricade of sandbags as the swollen River Trent threatened the town’s flood defences – they have put together a set of ten flood photographs.
They are being marketed as souvenirs for readers to keep, or send to relatives and friends at home or abroad. All ten pictures are available at a special price of £20 for a set of 7″ x 5″ colour prints. Two of them appear below.
